As, food resource often traded urbanites, who can pay higher prices as supplement meals. Inspite extant studies on this activity, urban dimensions remain poorly understood particularly Nigeria. The paper assessed insights into why Ikorudu urbanites Lagos, Nigeria continue consume wild meat and their awareness health. It was found using questionnaire survey that more than 70% residents had low negative wildmeat Furthermore, 45% residents’ view healthier carrying less germs contrary findings parasitic content. Results indicate taste cultural preferences are key reasons sustained (71%), Grasscutter (Thryonomys swiderianus) continues be favoured edible wildmeat. This signals pertinent need zoonotic potentials such through advocacy educational campaigns.
